Francisca Ada Ifesinachukwu, MD, founder and ceo of the clinic. She is popularly known lovingly as “Dr. Ada” by patients and their families alike. She is supported in the clinic by 2 providers – Amanda Nicole Sanders, PA-C, popularly known as “Ms. Amanda,”. We are all supported by our staff managed by Ms. Georgia, the Practice/Office Manager.
Dr. Ada received her general and adult psychiatry training at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock, Texas, and her child and adolescent psychiatry training at Scott and White Memorial Hospital, Temple/Texas A&M University Health Science Center. After she completed her training, Dr. Ada worked with a group practice in Austin before starting Summit Mental Health Clinic in August 2004.
Dr. Ada employs the DSM-V criteria and tailors it to fit each individual’s needs. As a member of the American Psychiatric Association and American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr. Ada has access to the latest, most recent journal publications to keep treatments up-to-date. She is also a member of the Texas Association of Psychiatric Physicians, the Texas Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the Black Psychiatrists of America.

Amanda Sanders
BSA, MPAS, PA-C
Amanda is a board-certified Physician Assistant, who joined the SMHC team in February of 2024. She graduated from University of Texas at Austin with her Bachelors in Human Development and Family Sciences with a special interest in Adolescent Development. She then went on to complete her Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Hardin Simmons Physician Assistant Program in Abilene, Texas. She received specialty training in several areas including Internal medicine, Emergency medicine, Pediatrics, OBGYN, Family medicine, Orthopedics, Palliative medicine and Psychiatry.
Amanda strives to provide top-tier holistic mental health care and advocacy for all of her patients. She understands the importance of the mind and body connection and works with her patients to coordinate care for optimal overall wellness.
In her free time she enjoys walking her dog, Olive, on the Town Lake trail and attending and even teaching yoga classes. With her training in a variety of yogic practices she likes to implement mindfulness and meditation techniques for treatment of her patients. She also enjoys traveling, reading and exploring new restaurants in the Austin area.
